Suspected Oil leak on the Q7

Weird one this, the cars barely 3 years old done just over 50k.

But last week I noticed alot of oil marks on the drive, initially I put it down to the Mondeo leaking clutch fluid. Just to make sure I went under the bonnet of the Q7, I was shocked when I saw oil over the engine.

It was as if a mini explosion had taken place, there was oil every where!!!! including the radiator fan. Took it to my cousin's garage in east london, they kept it for a couple of days but could not find a drip, leak or anything anywhere.

Kind of concernded as to where the oil came from, but at the same time kind of relieved it aint leaking, but I'm keeping a close eye on it.

Some have suggested it may have been that the dip stick was not sealed closed and the oil splurted out, would explain the explosion likeness.

I'm in the southwest next week so if the leak persists might have to get a Audi dealer in the southwest to have a look.

A different view from the Dartford Crossing

On my way into work today there was slow moving traffic on the Dartford Crossing, I'm not so good with heights anymore so hate being stuck on it in the outer lane. To make things worse I was in the Q7 which is slightly higher than the barriers arghhhhhhh!

But the views I got were cool, I could see further down, see more boats/ships and more buildings.

There was a funny looking building with a funny looking chimney right next to the bridge, need to find out what that is.

New F1 Car Launch trends

Its a new fang thing!

Mclaren earlier in the month said they would be streaming online their new car launch, Ferrari have just released a staement saying they will launch the car online via the wicked internet!

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/81079

Could this be a good cost cutting measure? I'm cool with the idea as long as the streams are of high quality and cover the entire launch.

Earlier in the week Mercedes revealed the colour of their new cars, just the colours not the actual car!

A little about me

so………..

I’m in my late 20’s, married with 2 little daughters living in Essex(!) England. As you’ve probably guessed I love cars, I hate them sometimes but most of the time I love them! I’m into Formula 1 (more on that in posts), I support West Ham (COYI) and work in new media.

I go into more detail about my cars, their issues etc in my posts but below are a few images of a few of my cars.

Drove the Jag into work today….

Sicne starting my new role I’ve only driven the Jag into work a hand full of times, purely because of the 3.0 V6 issue, lol.

But today with the Mondeo out of action and dad needing the Vectra I had the choice of the Jag or the Q7, I chose the Jag today because I miss driving it.

And it didn’t disappoint, smooth and fast. Before I knew it I was crusing at well over the speed limit but I couldn’t tell becuase it was so smooth and quiet, like it was making no effort what so ever.

The story with the Jag is I baught it in 2007 from a Jaguar dealer in Dorset for myself, loved it and still do. Added some in car entertainment to it for my pleasure. Had a few issues with it which I will post about in the next few days, months or years but overall its been good to me. Since I’ve baught the Q7 the wife has taken the Jag and sold her Alfa, so its in good hands.

A good car audio supplier I used to kit out the Jag was http://www.croydoncaraudio.co.uk, I wouldn’t buy some of the cheaper stuff off ebay, most of it is from China and of poor quality.

Why I got myself a diesel Mondeo

My new job is 48 miles from my home, so driving the Q7 or the Jag was not a financially viable option. So I “borrowed” my dads dualfuel Vectra SRI for a few weeks and was happy that it only cost me £50 a week on LPG to get to work. But, its a Vectra and although only on 2002 plate it looked and felt tired so I baught an older Ford Mondeo Diesel in search of even better MPG!

I picked up the Y plate Diesel Mondeo for £1350.00 decent, drove it for a week and got decent MPG out of it. On the 2nd week the clutch kept getting stuck to the floor, so took it into my cousins garage in east london who said either the master or slave cylinder would need replacing, I can’t be bothered with the hassle so INstead I’m going to send it to auction, take me dad’s vectra off him and buy him a C class. Thats the plan we’ll see how it goes though!

Finally, I’m going to try my hand at blogging!!!

After years of thinking about it, I’ve finally decided to give this blogging thing a bash.

You’ll have to excuse my bad grammer and spelling even though English is my main laguage I still haven’t quite grasped it.

The aim of this blog is to just write and publish how I feel, all of it might not be about cars. I’ll hopefully be adding alot of car reviews, tips and troubleshooting so watch this space (as they say)
