The Audi A1 - thoughts.......

The new Audi A1 is targeted at the BMW Mini customers, same category of vehicle. Small, nimble and very stylish.

Has the Mini got enough of a stronghold? I'm not too sure, this new Audi A1 looks nice, very nice. With Audi's refinement I am sure this will be another quality car from Audi.

The price range will be very similar to that of the Mini and BMW 1 Series, I would imagine.

So we have Mini class cars from BMW, Audi and  VW, 3 of the 4 top German Marques has Mercedes got anything in the pipeline?

Q7 Oil leak diagnosis

Damn, I've been busy trying to sort this leak out.

Initially it was at Duo Motors, my cousins garage in east London, they replaced the torn belt and investigted the leak again. This time they said the leak may be coming form the crank shaft pulley seals, a big job that they wanted Audi to do.

So I booked in t audi who would charge £360 just to diagnose it!!! Booked in I still wanted another opinions, so i found Motoraid on the internet, they are a Mercedes/Audi/VW specialist, very nice guys.

They stripped it down found it was not the pulley seals, they think it is the oil filter housing, so they've changed that along with a few other little items just to be on the safe side. They going to finish with it next Monday and then test it, so hopefully I'll get my Q7 back by Tuesday.

Q7 Oil leak causes disaster

The oil leak discussed in previous posts had contaminated the auxillary belts, so saturday evening on the way back from checking out a Civic hybrid the power steering let go in central London, a bitch to steer!

Drove it for about 3 miles then everying around me started shutting down, MMI, lights, windows etc, so pulled over and called for recovery.

The car got towed home that night, today it is being towed to the garage where work can be done under warranty.

HEADACHE!!!!!
