The Ford Focus has become very popular in the UK; over 1.4 million units have been sold here since its introduction in 1998. The Focus became popular with consumers because of its great value, comfort, safety and for being fun to drive.
The new revolutionary 2011 Ford Focus will finally arrive in the UK in March, less than two months away! Much is expected from the initial two-model line-up of a sporty 5-door hatchback and a stylish 5-door estate. The new Focus promises to deliver the highest standards of quality and detailed craftsmanship, outstanding fuel economy, and takes the legendary Focus driving dynamics to a new level.
The new look exterior which is referred by Ford as being “Dynamic” is complimented with new interior styling. The new Ford Focus has a modern, cockpit-style interior incorporating Ford's latest generation Human Machine Interface (HMI) system with twin five-way toggle switches on the steering wheel controlling the two main vehicle displays located in the instrument cluster and high in the centre of the instrument panel.
As with most new cars these days, the Focus aims to reduce CO2 levels and improve MPG figures. Most of the Focus range has the Auto-Start-Stop feature as standard; models with the 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost petrol engine and the 1.6-litre TDCi diesel engine are equipped with Auto-Start-Stop, with CO2 emissions starting at just 109g/km on the diesel model.
One of the technological features of the new Focus includes an innovative digital camera system which supports five driver assistance features that help deliver improved driver confidence and safety.
The front facing camera is integral in the following driver aids:
• Lane Departure Warning System
• Lane Keeping Aid
• Traffic Sign Recognition
• Auto High Beam
• Fatigue Monitoring
