Jaguar XF named Best Executive Car (again)

At this year’s Diesel Car awards the Jaguar XF was presented with the Best Executive Car accolade. It is the fourth time the British built Jaguar has won the award. The XF marked a design and philosophy change within Jaguar, the aim was to make Jaguars more attractive to younger generations and young executives. Initial response shows that Jaguar has succeeded in doing this, with phenomenal response to the XF.

Ian Robertson the Editor of Diesel Car Magazine presented the award and said, "As a prestige car to please an executive owner, the XF has it all. You get a terrific driving experience in the XF, cosseted in a cabin that is as comfortable as it is clever."

The judging panel of the Diesel Car awards was made up of its editorial team; they judged cars on comfort, refinement, style, efficiency and performance in each class.

Geoff Cousins, Managing Director, Jaguar UK, commented: "I'm proud that the XF remains as competitive today as it was when it was launched through our programme of improvements to ensure the XF retains its position at the very top of its class. To win four times is remarkable and testament to our commitment to delivering ever more refined and efficient diesel engines as well as class-leading refinement and customer care."

To build on the success of the XF, Jaguar has decided to introduce the new model this September. It will be equipped with a 2.2 litre diesel engine, offering combined economy of 52.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 149g/km. The first time I saw the XF was at a Jaguar bodyshop in Essex and I can’t wait to see the new one.
